Egleston Square businesses open on Thanksgiving AND Small Business Saturday!

Many Boston businesses in the Jamaica Plain / Roxbury neighborhood of Egleston Square are open on Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2019. Here are just a few and their holiday hours (many are closing earlier than usual):

Restaurants

Bocao Restaurant and Grill, pictured above, is all ready for Small Business Saturday AND serving serious portions of Dominican breakfast and lunch/dinner listed in extremely cute fashion on a handwritten menu by owner Juan Martinez, also pictured above. Both seating and takeout available, 8am – 6pm, closed Friday.

D & D Restaurant, Dominican food, notable for their chicharrón, friendly service, and serious portions. Seating and takeout available, 11am – 7pm.

Evergreen Eatery + Cafe’s dining room is closed, but coffee, tea and food items are available at their takeaway counter from 8am – 12pm.

PikaloX has empanadas, smoothies, juices, and insanely huge sandwiches if you ‘re too hungry to wait for Thanksgiving dinner, 8am – 3pm.

Money transfer and multi services

Boston Express Multi Services goes the extra mile for customers in need of money transfers, lottery tickets, and Charlie cards, open 9am – 7pm.

Beauty Salons and Barbershops

Alberto’s Hair Styling, a longtime neighborhood shop where you can find buen servicio y atención, 9am – 6pm.

Del Rey Barbershop, formerly The Throne / Moreno’s Barber Shop under new management. A super versatile spot with a skilled staff of barbers who cater to kids, elders, and everyone in between, including women, open 9am – 6pm.

Latino Beauty Salon, an Egleston Square institution specializing in all kinds of hair services and treatments with a specialty in eyebrows and eyelash extensions, 8:30am – 7:30pm.

VIP Salon, a spacious hair salon for both men and women, 9am -7pm.

La Peraviana Market, a family-owned neighborhood supermarket with a wide variety of pantry, frozen, and household items, 9am – 7pm.

Los Compadres Meat Market, a very complete neighborhood market specializing in bargain combo packages of fresh meats and poultry, as well as a great selection of pantry items and a solid produce section, 8:30am – 7pm.

Papi’s Market, 3145 Washington Street, wide selection of canned, pantry, and frozen items, with a limited selection of produce, open from 9am – 6pm.

Plaza Market, deceptively tiny but contains snacks, household items, a full selection of beans, rice, and pasta–everything you need and more–plus neighborhood gossip, open from 8:30am – 6pm.
