The puppets are coming!! The puppets are coming!!

Yes! With each passing day and as the snow slowly melts away from our streets and hearts, the Wake Up The Earth parade and Festivals draws nearer and nearer. Always held on the first Saturday in May, this year we’ll be hitting the streets on May 2nd!

Organized by the incredible souls at Spontaneous Celebrations, The Wake Up the Earth Festival began in 1979 when a group of local neighbors and activists banded together to stop the Interstate 95 expansion into Jamaica Plain. The festival began as, and still is, a celebration of what can be accomplished when people of all traditions, cultures, ages, and beliefs come together.

For the 4th year, Egleston Square will organize its own “stream” of the parade as we flow down Washington, to Columbus and eventually meeting up with the Centre street stream and flowing into the Southwest Corridor Parkway.

So…mark your calendar and stay tuned for more information on how to get involved.
